"I spent years looking for these negatives and it had to take a damn earthquake to find them."

As a result of the 1994 Los Angeles earthquake photographer Steven Magedoff discovered photographs from a private 1974 Frank Zappa concert amongst the debris of his badly damaged home.

Originally thought to be lost, these images were shot by the photographjer during the taping of a concert for a Television Special starring Frank Zappa and produced by Zappa's Echidna Productions in his Hollywood studio. Less than 100 people were allowed to attend. Also performing with Zappa were George Duke, Chester Thompson, Ruth Underwood, Napoleon Murphy Brock and Tom Fowler.

Only three pictures of the more than 10 rolls shot were ever made public. Those three images appeared on Zappa's Live at the Roxy and Elsewhere album.

A chance meeting in a Miami Beach bookstore in August of 1997 with Curator Carin Constant led to these Frank Zappa pictures being featured on ConstantXposure.
